LACIAC serves as an international alternative dispute resolution (ADR) centre dedicated to promoting fair, efficient, and transparent ADR practices across Africa.

Engagement in Technical Committees:
Energy Technical Committee: Responsible for organizing the Africa Energy Arbitrators Forum (AEA), in collaboration with the School of International Arbitration at Queen Mary University of London. The AEA provides training on energy dispute management and career guidance through flagship events, such as the AEA Preliminary Training and Competition, first launched in September 2021.
Construction Technical Committee:
Organizes the Dispute Management in African Infrastructure Projects (DiMAP) training, aimed at managing risks, claims, and disputes in major construction projects. DiMAP targets government bodies, private sector stakeholders, dispute resolution professionals, and law firms. The last DiMAP event was held in Accra in November 2022.
Tech Start-Up/Tech Steering Committee:
Focuses on training and discussions related to financial services, technology, SMEs, manufacturing, telecoms, media, and entertainment. The most recent tech roundtable was conducted in Lagos in 2024.
International Trade Conference:
A conference focused on ADR techniques like mediation, adjudication, conciliation, and arbitration, and discussions on the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA). The first International Trade Conference is set for the first quarter of 2025.
