Dr. Chinyere Almona has over 30 years of diversified leadership and management experience. She is an expert in corporate governance and has experience working across private, non-governmental, and international development sectors.
Dr. Almona was recently recognized as one of the 50 most influential women leaders in Governance, Risk Compliance, and Financial Crime Prevention in Nigeria by The Morgans. Her status as an industry leader resonates within Nigeria and the broader African context and is underscored by her recent appointment to Nigeria’s Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee.
Dr. Almona was listed among the 40 Top Women across Africa on the 2020 African Women in Banking and Finance Awards list.
She was on the 50 Women in Management Africa (WIMA) 2022 Award list and made the list of 50 Inspiring Nigerian Women. She is an international speaker and an accredited IFC trainer.
Dr. Almona is currently serving as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the foremost Chamber of Commerce in West Africa, established in 1888.
She is the Founder of Vantage Coaching and Consulting Services, with an extensive professional network across Africa. She previously led the Africa Corporate Governance Program of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), which provided a wide range of corporate governance reforms across thirteen (13) African countries. Before joining the IFC, Dr. Almona was a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, leading the Corporate Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Practice. She also established the firm’s Sustainable Business Practice in Nigeria.
Dr. Almona is a seasoned board member and adviser for several boards. She is an active angel investor under Rising Tide Africa, a female angel investors network. She is a Fellow of the following institutes.
- The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN),
- The Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), and
- The Institute of Directors (IOD – Ghana) – Honorary.
Dr. Almona has a specialist MBA in Corporate Social Responsibility from Nottingham University Business School, UK, and holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Business School Netherlands. She is a certified Leadership Coach with the Certified Coaches Federation Canada and a certified Cognitive Reflex Conditioning Practitioner.
Dr. Almona is the author of several Christian, leadership, and business books.
